Guangzhou Evergrande continued their relentless winning run on Saturday as Luiz Felipe's Scolari's side handed Yanbian Funde a 3-1 defeat to notch up their eighth straight win in the Chinese Super League.
Paulinho was credited with his side's opener after the Brazil midfielder deflected Xu Xin's long-range shot into the Yanbian goal in the 32nd minute, only for South Korea's Yoon Bit-Garam to level the scores before the half-time break with a perfectly struck free kick.
An error by the Yanbian defence, however, allowed Ricardo Goulart in to put Guangzhou back in front 17 minutes from time and Gao Lin put the result beyond doubt two minutes from time with a glancing header.
The win moved Guangzhou onto 31 points from their first 12 games of the season and the six-time champions lave lost just once and drawn once so far this season.
"We have played nine games within 30 days, domestically and internationally," said Scolari, whose side booked their place in the Asian Champions League quarterfinals with victory in Japan over Kashima Antlers during the week.
"This away game is very, very far and our players are worn out by all the travel. It was not easy for them to overcome the fatigue and win the game.
"Yanbian are not a weak team, and they have good players with nice skills. They should be higher in the rankings."
Shanghai SIPG remain just two points behind Guangzhou after four goals in the final 20 minutes of the game ensured Andre Villas-Boas' team saw off Liaoning Whowin with a 4-1 win.
Hulk scored twice, including from the penalty spot in the 81st minute, while Wu Lei and Lu Wenjun were also on target as SIPG moved onto 29 points from their 12 games.
Hebei CFFC were also victorious with Brazilian striker Aloisio scoring twice to allow Manuel Pellegrini's team to come back from going a goal behind against Jiangsu Suning, who were playing their first game wince Choi Yong-Soo quit as coach on Thursday.
Tianjin Quanjian closed the gap on fourth placed Shandong Luneng to just a point as Fabio Cannavaro's team handed Felix Magath's side a 2-1 defeat in Jinan on Saturday evening.
Li Songyi had put Shandong in front before Axel Witsel levelled and Zhang Xiuwei scored midway through the second half to give Tianjin the win.
