Former Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard joins Burnley

Burnley have signed former Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard until the end of the season.

Lindegaard, 33, moves to Turf Moor following the shoulder injury suffered by first-choice Tom Heaton in the home game against Crystal Palace.

The Denmark international, a free agent after leaving Championship side Preston in the summer, has been training with Sean Dyche's squad over the last week and provides backup for Nick Pope.

He told the club's official website: "I've had a good week here and I've had a very good impression of the whole club.

"It seems like an honest place and a very hard-working place, and I appreciate being a part of it.

"I have seen the first two games Nick has played and he's done very well. I have a lot of respect for that.

"I am here to try and sharpen up the competition in the goalkeepers' department, and we'll see what happens down the line."
