Marc Bartra to say official Borussia Dortmund farewell at Salzburg game

Borussia Dortmund and Marc Bartra, now at Real Betis, will say an official farewell ahead of Thursday's Europa League match against RB Salzburg.

Bartra made 51 appearances in 18 months at Dortmund and became a fans' favourite at the Westfalenstadion and will now have the chance to say goodbye to the club and its supporters.

"I'm absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to attend one of my old friends' home games so soon after leaving the club, and to have the chance to say my goodbyes to the wonderful fans of Borussia Dortmund too," Bartra told BVB's official website.

Having joined from Barcelona in 2016, Spain defender Bartra left Germany a day after speaking at Dortmund's district court, where Sergej W was being tried for the bomb attack on the Dortmund team bus in which he was injured.

"Together we experienced a lot and came through a lot," Bartra, a member of the side that won the 2017 DFB Pokal only six weeks after the attack, said.

"So it is definitely going to be another very emotional moment on Thursday, and it is one I am really looking forward to."
