Twice-capped Socceroos attacker Bernie Ibini has moved from Canada to the Middle East after signing a deal with U.A.E. Pro League club Emirates Club.
The 25-year-old winger has been at the Vancouver Whitecaps since May last year, scoring one goal in 25 Major League Soccer appearances.
Ibini burst onto the A-League scene with Central Coast Mariners before switching to Sydney FC, starting in every match of the 2014-15 campaign.
A dream transfer to Club Brugge in Belgium followed but a broken leg suffered in his first training session curtailed his progress.
Ibini's shift to Emirates Club gives him a fresh chance to re-establish his career at the start of a new World Cup cycle for Australia.
Ibini played under new Socceroos boss Graham Arnold at both the Mariners and the Sky Blues and a good season in the U.A.E. could quickly restore his international prospects given their established working relationship.
