Ghana striker Richmond Boakye has rejoined Red Star Belgrade on a two-year loan deal from Jiangsu Suning, the Serbian heavyweights have confirmed.
The Black Stars hitman completed the transfer on Friday, only seven months after moving to the Chinese Super League.
The 25-year old has returned to the Serbian capital with one eye on the UEFA Champions League football, with Red Star returning to the group stage for the first time since 1991.
They were drawn alongside Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Napoli in Friday's draw.
Boakye's agent Oliver Arthur told KweséESPN that prospect of continental football was too good to ignore.
"The main reason he is back in Serbia is because Red Star need him for the Champions League, and we all agree it is a big opportunity for him so we decided to take it," he said.
Boakye was a big hit in his first spell at Red Star, scoring 15 goals before he departed halfway through last season.
In all, he scored 39 goals for Zvezda over two seasons, but that form deserted him in China where he managed three goals in 15 games.
