When the ball went up in the air in October, there were promises this would be a wide-open season.

Then the upsets started happening. And the No. 1 teams started falling. And falling some more. Night after night, it seemed, a ranked team was getting beat by a team without a number next to its name.

The focus shifted to what this would mean for March. If the regular season was this chaotic, surely the NCAA tournament would be completely mad ... except our experts were pretty consistent. To them, either Kansas or Michigan State will be cutting down the nets in Houston.
