The St. Louis Cardinals are signing catcher Matt Wieters to a minor-league deal, ESPN confirmed.
Wieters last played with the Washington Nationals, after spending eight seasons with the Baltimore Orioles.
The four-time All-Star is a lifetime .251 hitter, with 135 HRs and 519 RBIs over 10 seasons. He's a two-time Gold Glove winner.
He batted .238 with 8 HRs and 30 RBIs in 76 games for the Nationals last season
