The Cincinnati Reds have agreed to a minor league contract with utility player Dee Strange-Gordon, a source tells ESPN's Kiley McDaniel.
The versatile, speedy Strange-Gordon spent three seasons with the Seattle Mariners, but his $14 million club option for 2021 was declined after the veteran fell into a utility role over the past two years.
Strange-Gordon, 32, was a starter at both second base and center field when he joined the Mariners in 2018. He played in only 33 of 60 games during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, hitting .200 with just 3 RBIs and 3 stolen bases in 75 at-bats.
In 10 major league seasons, Strange-Gordon has a career .286 batting average with 18 home runs, 234 RBIs and 333 stolen bases.
