Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames has been put on the 10-day injured list with a high left ankle sprain.
The move is retroactive to Monday.
Keston Hiura, who was recalled from Triple-A Nashville to take Adames' roster spot before the game, immediately made his impact felt. The first baseman hit a game-winning, two-run home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to lift the Brewers past the Atlanta Braves 7-6 on Wednesday.
"I can't wait for some sleep, that's for sure," Hiura, who arrived in Milwaukee on Tuesday night, said after his second walk-off home run of his career. "I tossed and turned last night."
Adames, who is tied with Hunter Renfroe for the team lead with nine home runs, suffered the injury during Sunday's game against the Miami Marlins on a hard slide while scoring on a sacrifice fly in the second inning. He is is hitting .208 with 24 RBIs this season.
