Clippers' Patrick Beverley out vs. Mavericks with calf strain

LA Clippers starting point guard Patrick Beverley has been ruled out of Thursday's game against the Dallas Mavericks with a left calf strain.

Beverley suffered the injury in the first quarter of the Clippers' 117-115 loss to the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday. The Clippers (45-22) once again will be shorthanded against the Mavericks with Beverley and Montrezl Harrell out. Harrell left the team on July 17 to tend to an excused family emergency and has yet to return. The grief-stricken Harrell has been mourning the loss of his grandmother.

The Clippers did just get Lou Williams back out of a 10-day quarantine. Williams had seven points, six assists and six rebounds in his first seeding game against the Suns.

Doc Rivers could start Reggie Jackson, who started at point guard when Beverley left the team for an excused family emergency a couple of weeks ago.
