Former Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen is expected to be named Rutgers' new offensive coordinator, according to sources.
Friedgen, 66, will replace former offensive coordinator Ron Prince, who took a position with the Detroit Lions.
Earlier this week, Friedgen met with Rutgers coach Kyle Flood on the Rutgers campus, sources said.
Friedgen was 75-50 as Maryland's coach from 2001 to '10.
Friedgen also has been offensive coordinator with Georgia Tech (1987-91, 1997-2000), the San Diego Chargers (1994-95), Maryland (1982-86), Murray State (1981), William & Mary (1980) and The Citadel (1977-79).
