NASCAR Daytona 500: How to watch, odds

The Daytona 500 is on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 2:30 p.m. ET, and will air live on FOX. It will be the 62nd running of the event, and it is the first race of the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season.

Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. claimed pole position in Sunday's qualifying lap, and Alex Bowman has the second spot at the start of the race. However, no pole winner has won the Daytona 500 since Dale Jarrett in 2000.

What is the Daytona 500?

The Daytona 500 is a 500-mile long race that has become the season-opening race of the NASCAR Cup series.

According to NASCAR's official website, the Daytona 500 has opened the NASCAR season every February since 1982 and is one of two Cup Series races held yearly at Daytona. This year, for the first time, Daytona's second NASCAR race will be the regular-season finale.

Who is favored to win the Daytona 500?

Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski, Chase Elliott and defending champion Denny Hamlin are the favorites to win, with odds set at 10-1, according to VegasInsider.com.

Who won last year's Daytona 500?

Hamlin, who drives Toyota, won the 2019 Daytona 500. It was his second win in four years, and an emotional win for Joe Gibbs Racing. Hamlin dedicated the race and the season to J.D. Gibbs, Joe Gibbs' eldest son, who died in early 2019 after battling a degenerative neurological disease.

Richard Petty has seven Daytona 500 wins, the highest number. Cale Yarborough has four wins. Jimmie Johnson and Denny Hamlin are the only active drivers with multiple victories -- two.
