Wales centre Jonathan Davies has been ruled out of the 2020 Six Nations after knee surgery for an injury sustained at the Rugby World Cup in Japan.
Davies, 31, will not be part of the Wales side aiming to defend their Six Nations Grand Slam title, and the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) announced he will be out of action for six months after picking up the injury during the World Cup victory against Fiji.
The centre played in Wales' semifinal defeat to South Africa, as well as their third-place play-off against New Zealand with heavy strapping but is set to undergo surgery.
Wales could also be without Scarlets fly-half Rhys Patchell who faces a race to be fit for the Six Nations, and is expected to spend 12 to 16 weeks out following a shoulder injury picked up in Japan.
Wales kick-off their Six Nations campaign against Italy in Cardiff on Feb. 1.
Fly-half Gareth Anscombe will also miss the Six Nations due to a knee injury he picked up ahead of the World Cup in August.
