Sabine Lisicki wins Texas Open

GRAPEVINE, Texas -- Sabine Lisicki of Germany defeated Aravane Rezai of France 6-2, 6-1 on Saturday to win the first Texas Open.

The fifth-ranked Lisicki, who entered the tournament ranked 23rd in the world, did not lose a set during the tournament and only lost 13 games total in her five tournament matches.

Lisicki, who reached the semifinals of Wimbledon earlier this summer, won her third career singles title.

Rezai, ranked 114th in the world, entered the tournament as a qualifier and played in her sixth match this week including Saturday's finals.

After each player held serve for the first five games, Lisicki won nine of the final 10.
