Week 8 of the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup just ended. If you think players are running out of sneakers to pull out of their closets, you're wrong. In fact, some of them are just getting better. For the second straight week, no retro Jordans made it to our list. But that doesn't mean there was a lack of heat.

A few weeks back, we featured Justin Chua for his Puma Clyde Court Disrupt "Title Run." This week, he makes a comeback with a different colorway. The "London Calling" was actually the first pair of CCs that Justin broke out in the PBA, back in the Philippine Cup. It was initially released to celebrate the NBA London Game between the Washington Wizards and the New York Knicks. Unfortunately, there was no celebration when Justin wore it this week because they lost to NLEX.
If Chua is rising to be the prince of Pumas in the PBA, Trevis Jackson is the king of Converse. Earlier in the conference, Jackson showed the white colorway of the All Star Pro BB. This time he carried out the black one. Jackson remains to be the only player in the league to have brought out the new basketball sneaker of Converse because it doesn't hit the Philippine market until later this year. And from the looks of the sneaker, it's something we'll all be lining up for when it finally comes out in Manila.
The Jordan 33 has been out in the market for a while now. It has been worn by several players throughout the Commissioner's Cup, but makes an appearance on our list only now. It feels like a perfect match that the "Future of Flight" was worn by the guy nicknamed as "The Rocket". JC Intal wore his AJ33s in their game against the NLEX Road Warriors. Intal may be a veteran in the league but his Phoenix Fuel Masters, a relatively young team, is quick on the rise. They'll be looking to bounce back from that loss.
A few weeks ago, we talked about how crazy the colorways of Kyrie's signature line can get. But every once in a while, Nike likes to simplify things and go back to the classic. Chris Banchero has been hooping in Kyrie 5s all conference. Here he is with his Oreos - simple white and black, a no frills-no fuss colorway. Banchero may not be like Irving in terms of slick handles, but both of them use their change of speed incredibly. Chris deceives the defense with one simply hesitation partnered with an explosion to the basket. Guess who else does that. Yup, Kyrie.
After leading the Utah Jazz past the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the 2018 NBA Playoffs, I was convinced that Donovan Mitchell deserved his own signature sneaker line. It took some time, but it's finally here. Paolo Taha showcased the "Stealth Spider-Man" edition of the D.O.N. Issue #1 in NorthPort's thrilling win over the Meralco Bolts. The Batang Pier are already assured of a twice-to-beat advantage entering the quarterfinals. Much like Donovan and the Jazz in 2018, Paolo and NorthPort are hoping to steal the show in the PBA playoffs.
