Bo Scarbrough impressed by Yeldon, Tide

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- ESPN Watch List running back Bo Scarbrough (Tuscaloosa, Ala./Northridge) has been there before. When Alabama’s T.J. Yeldon fumbled the ball in the second half, Scarbrough knew how he felt. He’s put the ball on the turf in key situations before, too.

“When you fumble the ball, and they get a big play off it, you really look at it like now you have to do something special to make up for that fumble that you had,” Scarbrough said. “You have to make a play for the team. Once you fumble, you put the team in a bad position.”

It’s safe to say Yeldon made up for the fumble with his 28-yard touchdown reception in the final minute to give Alabama the lead for good.

“He’s a great player because he fumbled the ball in the red zone, but he came back at the end of the game and scored the winning touchdown to make up for the fumble that he had,” Scarbrough said.

The Alabama commitment visited Death Valley for the game, and although it was closer than expected, he felt the Tide played well for all four quarters. Despite the hostile environment, he was brave enough to still pull for his team.

“I think that Alabama played lights out,” Scarbrough said. “They’ve put in hard work, and that hard work made them play for four quarters. If you play for four quarters, you can win the ball game.”

If LSU wanted to make an impression on the 6-foot-2, 220-pound running back, it didn’t happen on this trip. Scarbrough was less than impressed with how the recruiting aspect of his visit was handled.

“The recruiting part wasn’t organized like it should be,” he said. “I filled out this thing online for the free tickets, and I got the email that said I had been approved. When I got there, they said my name wasn’t on the list, so I had to sit in this room until five minutes before kickoff.

“Then they told me to stay after the game so I could talk to Coach Les Miles, and after the game, nobody showed up.”

Scarbrough says his commitment to Alabama is still solid. He plans to attend the Tide’s home game against Texas A&M on Saturday.
