No. 24 OT believes UCLA is best place for him to excel (0:52)

Stephan Zabie announces he will play college football at UCLA and explains why he chose the Bruins. (0:52)

UCLA started signing day off by landing a prospect of impact at a position of need, as ESPN 300 offensive tackle Stephan Zabie announced his commitment.

The Bruins are in need of offensive linemen in this class and expect four more signatures along the line, all interior prospects -- ESPN 300 center Kanan Ray, three-star guards Jax Wacaser and Zack Sweeney, as well as recent Boise State flip Sean Seawards.

Zabie, the nation's No. 207 overall prospect, is just the third ESPN 300 or ESPN 150 offensive tackle signed by UCLA, joining Xavier Su'a-Filo in the 2009 class and Andre James in 2015.

The Bruins lose senior left tackle Conor McDermott, one of the best linemen from a 2016 unit that struggled to create much in the way of a running game. Zabie might not immediately step into a starting spot up front, but adding him to the infusion of talent along the line for the Bruins is significant.
