St. John's forward Sir'Dominic Pointer was named the Big East Player of the Week on Monday, after sparkling performances in wins over Xavier and Georgetown.
The senior had 19 points, nine rebounds, six blocked shots and four steals against the Musketeers, and 24 points and seven rebounds against the Hoyas, playing the full 40 minutes in each game.
Pointer is now second on the team in scoring (14 ppg) and tops in rebounding (7.6 rpg), putting himself in the conversation for Big East first-team honors.
Seton Hall forward Angel Delgado won Big East Rookie of the Week for the third time after posting his ninth double-double of the season in the Pirates' win over Creighton on Saturday. The freshman had 13 points and 11 rebounds against the Bluejays.
Delgado is averaging 9.3 points and 9.9 rebounds per game, making him the top rebounder in the Big East, and likely the conference's Rookie of the Year.
