COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Mitchell Kranson homered in the bottom of the 14th inning, lifting Cal past top-seeded Texas A&M 2-1 in the College Station Regional on Saturday night.
Kranson's blast off Ryan Hendrix (5-3) landed just over the outstretched glove of right fielder Nick Banks, sending the Golden Bears (36-19) out of their dugout in celebration as they advanced to the regional championship.
Erik Martinez (3-1) earned the win for Cal, designated the home team in Texas A&M's home park under tournament rules.
Texas A&M (46-12) blew a chance in top of the 13th to score after loading the bases with one out. Banks struck out and G.R. Hinsley grounded out to end the threat. Cal left fielder Brian Celsi also robbed a potential home run by Banks in the 11th with a leaping catch at the wall.
The Aggies take on Coastal Carolina in an elimination game Sunday.
Maryland 4, UCLA 1
LOS ANGELES -- LaMonte Wade homered and Maryland defeated No. 1 national seed UCLA 4-1 on Saturday night in the Los Angeles Regional.
Robert Galligan pitched 4⅓ scoreless innings of relief for the Terrapins (41-21), who set a school record for victories and moved into the championship round of the regional.
Galligan (4-4) entered with a 4-1 lead in the fourth inning and gave up only an infield single. Kevin Mooney pitched the ninth for his 10th save, his second in two days.
UCLA (43-15) scored an unearned run in the first inning off Maryland starter Brian Shaffer, who left after two innings.
Maryland's Tim Lewis hit a two-run triple off Grant Watson (8-5) in the second, and Wade led off the third with his third homer. Kevin Smith followed with a double and scored on Kevin Martir's groundout.
The Bruins will play CSU Bakersfield in an elimination game Sunday.
Vanderbilt 6, Indiana 4
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Dansby Swanson hit a two-run homer with one out in the ninth inning to give Vanderbilt a 6-4 victory over Indiana in the Nashville Regional on Saturday night.
Swanson, a possible No. 1 overall draft pick on June 8, also fielded Austin Cangelosi's grounder deep in the hole at shortstop and fired to first base for the first out in the bottom of the ninth -- drawing "Dans-by!'' chants from the sellout crowd of 3,626.
Vanderbilt (44-19) moved into the championship round of the regional, while Indiana (35-23) faces Radford in an elimination game Sunday.
Ben Bowden (6-1) earned the win with two scoreless innings in relief, allowing one hit. Kyle Wright earned his second save, retiring all three batters he faced in the ninth.
Indiana reliever Luke Harrison (4-2) took the loss after allowing Swanson's 14th homer of the season in the ninth.
LSU 2, UNC Wilmington 0
BATON ROUGE, La. -- Freshman Alex Lange struck out 12 in a six-hitter, leading LSU to a 2-0 victory over UNC Wilmington in the Baton Rouge Regional on Saturday night.
LSU (50-10) broke a scoreless tie in the seventh inning to move into the championship round of the regional. UNCW (40-17) will take on Tulane in an elimination game Sunday.
Lange (11-0) became the first LSU freshman to have 100 or more strikeouts in a season, posting 110 so far for the Tigers. The Southeastern Conference player of the year walked two in the shutout.
With the game scoreless, Kade Scivicque led off the seventh with a double and advanced to third on Andrew Stevenson's single. Chris Chinea followed with an RBI single off Evan Phillips (2-2).
Jared Foster added a run-scoring groundout in the ninth for LSU.
Coastal Carolina 4, Texas Southern 1
COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Andrew Beckwith pitched shutout ball into the ninth inning and second-seeded Coastal Carolina ousted fourth-seeded Texas Southern 4-1 Saturday in the College Station Regional.
Beckwith (6-4) allowed struck out five over a career-high 8 1/3 innings. After Texas Southern scored, Bobby Holmes relieved with runners on second and third and finished for the save.
Michael Paez homered into a construction zone beyond the left field fence in the third. The Chanticleers (39-20) added three runs in the fourth on RBI hits by Tyler Chadwick, Jack Curtis and Anthony Marks.
Coastal Coastal won its first NCAA tournament game since defeating Manhattan in 2012.
The Tigers, the Southwestern Athletic Conference champions, were in the tournament for the first time since 2008. They finished at 31-19.
USC 12, UC Santa Barbara 3
LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. -- A.J. Ramirez hit a three-run double in Southern California's seven-run ninth inning, and Kyle Twomey pitched into the eighth as the Trojans eliminated UC Santa Barbara with a 12-3 victory in the Lake Elsinore Regional on Saturday.
Twomey (8-2) allowed seven hits and three runs in 7 1/3 innings for the Trojans (38-20).
Leadoff man Bobby Stahel had three hits and scored three runs, and Garrett Stubbs had three hits and two RBI.
Regional host UC Santa Barbara (40-17-1) exited the tournament without ever holding a lead in their second NCAA tournament appearance since 2001. Trailing 5-1 in the eighth, the Gauchos scored twice and had the bases loaded but Southern Cal reliever Tyler Gilbert, inheriting a 2-0 count, struck out pinch-hitter Billy Frederick to end the rally.
Auburn 1, Mercer 0
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Auburn's Rocky McCord and Keegan Thompson combined on a seven-hit shutout and a pair of pinch hitters helped produce the game's only run as the Tigers ousted Mercer 1-0 Saturday in the NCAA regional tournament.
Jordan Ebert singled in a pinch-hit appearance in the sixth inning, stole second base and moved to third on another single and scored on a sacrifice fly by pinch hitter Blake Logan.
McCord (6-4) went the first 6 2/3 innings before yielding to Thompson, who picked up a save in his first relief appearance of the season. Mercer reliever Morgan Pittman (2-3) took the loss.
It was the third consecutive tournament game decided by one run and the first that didn't go extra innings.
Third-seeded Auburn (36-25) will meet College of Charleston on Sunday.
Fourth-seeded Mercer (35-23) got a runner to third base twice and had the bases loaded with two outs in the seventh.
Florida State 3, College of Charleston 2
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Quincy Nieporte broke a tie with his eighth-inning homer, and top-seeded Florida State beat the College of Charleston 3-2 on Saturday in a winner's bracket game.
Carl Wise's two-run homer in the top half of the eighth tied the game and chased Florida State starter Boomer Biegalski, who scattered three hits over the first seven innings and struck out eight. A two-out double by Alex Pastorius preceded Wise's homer.
Dylan Silva (7-1) needed only two pitches to get out of the eighth, and Billy Strode pitched a perfect ninth for his 14th save.
Brandon Glazer (10-2) went the distance for the Cougars (44-14).
Florida State scored twice in the fifth on RBI singles by Josh Delph and D.J. Stewart.
The Seminoles (43-19) await the winner of Sunday's early elimination game between third-seeded Auburn and the second-seeded Cougars. Either would need to win three straight games to advance to next week's super regionals. All four tournament games have been decided by one run.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Zack Collins drove in three runs to lead top-seeded Miami to an 8-3 win against third-seeded Columbia in the NCAA Coral Gables Regional.
The Hurricanes (46-14), the No. 5 national seed, had four runs in the second inning against Columbia starter Kevin Roy, who allowed four hits and a walk to the first five batters he faced in the frame. Willie Abreu had a two-run double down the left-field line to start the scoring.
In the fourth, Collins hit a two-run single off fellow lefty Mike Weisman, who replaced Roy after the right-hander surrendered his third walk of the inning -- sixth overall -- to load the bases with two outs. Collins added an RBI single in the eighth.
For the Lions (32-16), the designated home team Saturday at Miami's ballpark, Gus Craig blasted a solo home run in the second and David Vandercook hit a two-run shot in the fourth. Miami starter Thomas Woodrey allowed four other hits in 5 2/3 innings, and struck out five.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Josh Anderson broke a tie with a two-run single in the eighth inning in FIU's 2-0 victory over East Carolina on Saturday in an NCAA regional elimination game.
FIU (30-30) starter Chris Mourelle pitched 7 1/3 innings, allowing six hits and no walks. Danny Dopico (3-4) got the final five outs, allowing one hit, for the win.
East Carolina starter Reid Love (7-4) took the loss.
Louisville 4, Michigan 3
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Devin Hairston's sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning lifted Louisville to a 4-3 win over Michigan in the Louisville Regional on Saturday.
The Cardinals (45-16), the No. 3 overall seed in the NCAA tournament, advanced to Sunday's regional championship game with the victory over the Wolverines (38-24).
Danny Rosenbaum, whose two-run homer in the seventh gave Louisville a 2-1 lead, led off the ninth with a single. Pinch-runner Colin Lyman moved to second on a groundout, stole third and scored when Michigan right fielder Johnny Slater made a diving catch in foul territory of Hairston's tailing line drive.
Zack Burdi (6-0) allowed two hits in 1 1/3 relief innings for the win. Jacob Cronenworth (3-7) took the loss for the Wolverines, who had tied the game at 3 with two runs in the eighth.
Carmen Benedetti homered for Michigan, which faces Bradley (36-20) in an elimination game Sunday.
Bradley 9, Morehead State 4
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Bradley tied a season high with 14 hits -- three each by Spencer Gaa and Paul Solka -- and eliminated Morehead State with a 9-4 win Saturday in the Louisville Regional.
Drew Carlile, Isaac Smith and Elliot Ashbeck added two hits apiece, while Carlile had a trio of RBIs, for the second-seeded Braves (36-20), who will play Michigan in an elimination game Sunday.
Nathan Strong (1-0) picked up the victory with 3 1/3 innings of relief. The right-hander gave up only three hits while walking one after taking over for starter Cameron Roegner with two outs in the fifth.
Ryan Kent led fourth-seeded Morehead State (38-22) at the plate with three hits while Robby Spencer added two hits and two RBIs.
Senior catcher Chris Robinson, the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year who came in fifth nationally with a .409 batting average, went 0-for-4 and ended the game with a deep fly out to center field with the bases loaded.
Eagles starter Craig Pearcy (4-5) took the loss.
Florida Atlantic 8, Florida A&M 1
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Esteban Puerta hit a three-run homer and drove in four runs, lifting Florida Atlantic to an 8-1 victory over Florida A&M on Saturday in the Gainesville Regional.
FAU's Kyle Miller (7-3) allowed one run and three hits over five innings, striking out three.
Puerta had a game-high four RBI and two hits. Christian Dicks also homered for the Owls (41-18), in the sixth inning.
Florida A&M (23-25) scored its only run in the fifth inning on Brian Davis' homer to right field.
Right-hander Ryan Anderson (1-4) gave up two runs and three hits in three innings for Florida A&M.
Florida 8, South Florida 2
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- A.J. Puk struck out eight in seven scoreless innings, leading Florida to an 8-2 victory against South Florida in the Gainesville Regional.
Buddy Reed and Harrison Bader each hit two-run homers, and Peter Alonso had two hits and two RBI. Florida (46-16) had eight players reach base, and six finished with at least two hits.
Puk (9-3) allowed four hits in the win, while Ryan Valdes (5-4) gave up five runs and 10 hits in six innings for the Bulls (34-25-1).
Levi Borders and Nik Alfonso drove in the runs for South Florida.
Arkansas 7, Oklahoma State 5
STILLWATER, Okla. -- Rick Nomura and Michael Bernal had RBI singles in a five-run eighth inning and Arkansas took advantage of Oklahoma State's sloppy defense to beat the top-seeded Cowboys 7-5 in the winners' bracket of the Stillwater Regional.
Second-seeded Arkansas (37-22) needs one more win to advance to a super regional for the fourth time in seven years. Oklahoma State (38-19) needs to win three games in two days to win the regional, starting with an elimination game Sunday against St. John's.
The Razorbacks trailed 4-2 entering the eighth against Oklahoma State starter Michael Freeman, who had retired 13 straight batters. But pinch-hitter Carson Shaddy walked to end that streak and Freeman (10-3) and reliever Remey Reed both committed a key throwing error during the inning.
Arkansas reliever James Teague (5-4) picked up the win while Zach Jackson recorded his seventh save.
St. John's 10, Oral Roberts 4
STILLWATER, Okla. -- Matt Harris had two hits and drove in four runs and Robert Wayman had four hits to help St. John's beat Oral Roberts 10-4 on Saturday in an NCAA regional elimination game.
St. John's (40-15) rebounded from a 5-4, walkoff loss Friday night -- a game that snapped a 15-game winning streak for the Big East champions.
Oral Roberts finished the season 41-16.
Harris hit a two-run single in the third inning to give St. John's a 3-0 lead. The senior first baseman then hit another two-run single as part of a six-run fourth, when the Red Storm sent 10 batters to the plate and chased Bryce Howe (4-2).
Ryan McCormick (11-1), the Big East pitcher of the year, threw five strong innings for the Red Storm, allowing two runs -- one earned -- on three hits.
NC State 5, TCU 4
FORT WORTH, Texas -- Chance Shepard hit a two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning, leading North Carolina State past TCU in the Fort Worth Regional.
NC State (36-21) advanced to the championship round of the regional, while TCU (44-12) plays Stony Brook in an elimination game Sunday. The teams traded leads five times in a contentious meeting that included a shouting match between coaches after alternating hard tags and slides.
Riley Ferrell (1-3) struck out the first two batters in the ninth before walking Ryan Willard. Shepard came up and sent a pitch from Ferrell over the center-field fence to put NC State ahead.
Travis Orwig (2-0) gave up a leadoff double to Nolan Brown in the bottom of the inning, but got the next three batters to seal the win.
Garrett Crain hit inside-the-park home run in the third for TCU.
Stony Brook 11, Sacred Heart 6
FORT WORTH, Texas -- Casey Baker homered and drove in four runs, helping Stony Brook stave off elimination with an 11-6 victory over Sacred Heart in the Fort Worth Regional on Saturday.
Jack Parenty, the America East Conference player of the year, had three RBI and every starter for the Seawolves (35-15-1) had at least one hit. Stony Brook finished with 17 hits against four Sacred Heart pitchers.
Stony Brook jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning, scoring before and after a 45-minute rain delay.
Nicholas DiEva (3-1) allowed three runs in 3 1/3 relief innings for the win. Jason Foley (2-7) allowed five runs and five hits in one inning for Sacred Heart (23-32-1)
The Pioneers are still looking for their first NCAA tournament win in their fourth appearance.
Pepperdine 10, Clemson 8
FULLERTON, Calif. -- Chris Fornaci had a homer and tie-breaking single among his four hits and Pepperdine beat Clemson 10-8 in an elimination game in the Fullerton Regional.
The Waves (31-28) scored three runs in the first inning and Fornaci added a solo homer in the second. Pepperdine added three runs in the sixth to build a 7-0 lead.
The Tigers (32-29) scored twice in the sixth inning and then sent 10 batters to the plate in the seventh, scoring six runs to take an 8-7 lead. Tyler Krieger and Chris Okey had two-run singles and Tyler Slaton ripped a two-run triple that gave the Tigers the one-run lead.
The Waves tied the game in the eighth and Fornaci's RBI single in the ninth gave Pepperdine the lead for good.
Max Gamboa (6-2) pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the win. Pat Krall (2-4) was the losing pitcher.
Champaign Regional PPD
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Ryan Fucci and Mark Fowler hit two-run homers in Wright State's five-run second inning and the Raiders led Ohio 5-2 when play was suspended because of rain in the NCAA regional elimination game.
They will resume will play in the top of the third inning Sunday.
The winners' game between Illinois and Notre Dame was postponed until Sunday. Also Sunday, the Wright State-Ohio winner will play the Illinois-Notre Dame loser in an elimination game.
On Friday in the opening games, Illinois (48-8-1) beat Ohio (36-20) 10-3, and Notre Dame (37-21) topped Wright State (41-16) 13-7.
Dallas Regional PPD
DALLAS -- Rain and wet field conditions washed out play Saturday in the Dallas NCAA baseball regional.
On Sunday, Texas (30-26) will play Dallas Baptist (43-14) in an elimination game, followed by a winners' game between Oregon State (39-16-1) and VCU (38-22). The Texas-Dallas Baptist winner will then face the Oregon State-VCU loser in another elimination game.
On Friday, Oregon State beat Texas 5-4, and VCU topped Dallas Baptist 7-2.
Houston Regional PPD
HOUSTON -- The Rice-Houston Baptist elimination game in the Houston Regional was suspended in the top of the fourth inning due to lightning and rain Saturday.
Houston and Louisiana-Lafayette, originally scheduled to face each other Saturday night, will play Sunday after the Rice-Houston Baptist game is concluded.
The winner of Rice-Houston Baptist will face the loser of the Houston-Louisiana-Lafayette matchup Sunday night in an elimination game. The championship game will be played Monday.
Rice leads 1-0 in the fourth and will be batting with one out when play resumes. The Owls went ahead in the fourth on a one-out double by Ryan Chandler.
The game went under a lightning delay that lasted 2 hours, 49 minutes until officials called the game. Roads around Cougar Field, where the regional is being hosted, were flooded, and frequent lightning strikes were still occurring when the game was suspended.
