ESPN 100 small forward Ishmail Wainright committed to Baylor late Thursday night over Ohio State, St. John's and Texas.
Wainright confirmed the commitment to ESPN.com via text message, citing his faith in directing his decision.
Wainright, who is ranked No. 26 overall and No. 5 among small forwards in the Class of 2013, attends Montrose Christian in the Washington, D.C., area but is originally from Raytown, Mo.
Wainright, 6-foot-6 and 220 pounds, is a wing player who is physically ready to compete at the Big 12 level.
At times on the AAU circuit, Wainright stood out thanks to his ability to attack the basket and score through contact.
He is the Bears' second commitment in the 2013 class, joining No. 34 power forward Johnathan Motley of Houston.
Baylor is also already on the board in the 2014 class with ESPN 60 small forward Leron Black of Memphis, Tenn. Black is rated the No. 12 overall recruit in the Class of 2014 by ESPN.
