Recruit 411: Marshall Morgan

ATHENS, Ga. -- Marshall Morgan learned at a young age that place-kickers face a perception problem, but he also discovered a way to help his own cause.

Morgan (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./American Heritage) became more than "just a kicker" as a sophomore when he booted the game-winning field goal against Pembroke Pines Charter, clinching the first-ever district title for his school, Archbishop McCarthy.

"It's definitely a different position. Growing up I didn't really like it, because I'd get so much [of a hard time] like, 'Oh you're not a football player, you're a soccer player,' kind of thing," Morgan said. "But then starting like sophomore year, there was a district game that I made a game-winner against Pines Charter, and then I started getting more respect. Everything's been good since then."
