Defending champions India claim silver after losing to Malaysia in the mixed team badminton final.
Only PV Sindhu won her women's singles match as Kidambi Srikanth, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty and Treesa Jolly-Gayatri Gopinchand lose their respective matches.
India started their tie with the doubles match. It was a tricky one for Satwik-Chirag because they haven't beaten Aaron Chia, Soh Wooi Yik ever. They started well and won the important points to stay in the opening game. But once Chia-Wooi Yik took control, it became really difficult for them.
At one point in the first game, Satwik-Chirag were leading 18-17 but they lost the next four points to lose the opening game 18-21.
The Malaysian pair were good on the big smashes and solid with their defence. Despite their best efforts, Satwik-Chirag lost the second game 15-21.
PV Sindhu was up next and she started on a strong note, taking an early lead and looking set to win the opening game by a big margin. But the 22-year-old Goh Jin Wei picked up her game and won seven consecutive points to make it 19-19 in the opening game. Her deceptive play - the drop shots earned her crucial points. But Sindhu prevailed in the end to win the opening game 22-20.
Goh kept pushing Sindhu in the second game but Sindhu used her experience to win the big moments and ultimately clinched the game 21-17.
In the next match, Kidambi Srikanth and Ng Tze Yong played an absolute thriller. There were quite a few long rallies and Srikanth's defence was outstanding but Yong kept winning the big points.
Yong won the opening game 21-19 but Srikanth showed his calibre in the next game and won it 21-6.
Both players gave everything in the third and final game but again Yong won crucial points and closed it out 21-16 to clinch the match and give 2-1 lead to Malaysia.
It all came down to Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand to keep India in contention for the gold medal. A tough match against women's doubles top seed of Pearly Tan and Muralitharan Thinaah.
They put up a good fight but the Malaysian pair won the match 21-18, 21-17 to hand Malaysia their first gold medal since 1998.
