South Africa's middle-distance star Caster Semenya set a new 600m world record when she stormed through the ISTAF World Challenge race in Berlin on Sunday night. The 800m world champion finished her 600m race in a time of 1:21.77 to better the previous record by 0.86 set by Cuba's Ana Quirot in 1997. "I feel home here. I won my first world title here, so this city is special to me. I wanted to deliver," said Caster Semenya. Ajee Wilson took second place while Burundi's Francine Niyonsaba, an Olympic and World Championships silver medalist, finished third (1:23.18).
