Orlando Pirates have continued the overhaul of their squad with the signing of reigning Zambian Footballer of the Year Augustine Mulenga, the club confirmed on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old forward joins on a three-year deal from Zanaco and is the second Zambian at the club after Justin Shonga, who opened his scoring account for the team in their 2-0 win over Platinum Stars.

"We are delighted to have finally secured the services of Augustine.

"He is an accomplished player who has all the qualities to make an immediate impact at the club," Pirates administrative officer Floyd Mbele told the club's website.

"I would like to thank Zanaco management for their professionalism during negotiations."

Mulenga has been participating in the 2018 African Nations Championship in Morocco, where he netted in the 3-1 victory over Uganda and then got two more goals in the 2-0 win against Ivory Coast.

Zambia were knocked out of the competition at the quarterfinal stage by Sudan on Saturday.
