  • Chess: Both R Praggnanandhaa and D Gukesh had draws again in the fifth round of the Sinquefield Cup, underway here as the final leg of the Grand Chess Tour.

  • Football: Mohammedan Sporting Club was officially announced as the newest member of the Indian Super League.

  • Badminton: Tanvi Patri registered a dominating win over Thailand's Kungkaew Kakanik to reach the U-15 girls singles final at the Badminton Asia U-17 & U-15 junior championships. However, there was heart-break for Gnana Dattu in the U-17 boys singles, who lost his semifinal and will get the bronze medal.

  • Football: Manipur-based clubs NEROCA FC and TRAU FC filed a petition in the Delhi High Court, seeking to revert the All-India Football Federation's (AIFF) decision to relegate the two clubs from the second-tier I-League. The two clubs claim the AIFF failed to factor in the disruption caused to their operations by the strife in Manipur last year.
