The NA LCS summer finals head to Toronto

Traditionally, Riot Games has normally hosted events at sports arenas. Provided by Riot Games

While the 2016 World Championships will be road trip across four cities in the United States, the first major stop to kick off the road to the Summoner's Cup final will come north of the border in Canada on August 27-28. The North American League Championship Series summer finals will take place in Toronto's Air Canada Centre, home of the NBA's Eastern conference finalists, the Toronto Raptors, and the NHL's thirteen-time Stanley Cup champions, the Toronto Maple Leafs.

At 665,000 square feet, the center can hold over 19,000 viewers. This year alone, the venue has hosted concerts for Selena Gomez, The Who, Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen, and more.

After the first week of games in the NA LCS regular season, all four remaining undefeated teams possess a player that grew up in Canada. Team SoloMid, currently the only team that hasn't dropped a map, has shining rookie support Vincent "Biofrost" Wang. The surprisingly flawless newcomer organizations of Apex Gaming and Team Envy have Danny "Shiphtur" Le and Benjamin "LOD" deMunck, respectively. And rounding out of the top four, there is Immortals' Jason "WildTurtle" Tran, who has participated in various NA LCS Finals over his career but never in his home city and country of Toronto, Canada.

Tickets sales will begin in late June.
