SAN FRANCISCO -- League of Legends developer and tournament organizer Riot Games debuted its first stream sponsor in over a year at its annual League of Legends World Championship on Thursday. Electronics corporation Acer's sponsorship will span through the entirety of the event, which will tour through San Francisco, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles in the coming weeks, and will also extend to Riot's All-Star event in Barcelona, Spain in December.

The Acer logo appeared during League of Legends World Championship highlights and replays on the stream of the event on live streaming platform Twitch, with players also sporting Acer's Predator XB1 headphones on-stage while competing. Monetary terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Acer is committed to pushing boundaries in the gaming arena and has built a strong reputation with its widely acclaimed Predator line of gaming notebooks, desktops and displays, consistently delivering new, relevant technology to the market," Acer senior director Vincent Lin said in a press release. "This sponsorship for the 2016 League of Legends World Championships and 2016 League of Legends All-Star Event, two of the world's most popular and exciting esports events, will help Acer demonstrate its gaming prowess to gaming enthusiasts around the globe."

The deal with Acer is the first major stream monetization deal by Riot Games since its partnership with Coca-Cola last year. That partnership came to a close after the 2015 Mid-Season Invitational in Tallahassee, Florida.
