RNG makes short work of Splyce

Royal Never Give Up surprised many fans by easily defeating Team SoloMid in front of the American franchise's home crowd on Thursday evening at the 2016 League of Legends World Championships, and followed that up with arguably the most dominant performance over the first day and a half of action in San Francisco in a 25-minute victory over Europe's Splyce.

Jian "Uzi" Zi-Hao posted a scoreline of 10/0/4 on Ezreal in a powerful display of talent that started when he picked up first blood in the bottom lane just after five minutes had elapsed in the contest. He would continue putting immense pressure on the Splyce duo lane, finishing with the most damage to champions and nearly double the gold of his opponent, Kasper "Kobbe" Kobberup.

Jungler Liu "mlxg" Shi-yu of RNG first-picked Lee Sin, and was able to make plays on the champion throughout the game, constantly invading the Splyce jungle and helping to dive towers and keep up the pressure on their overmatched foes.

The Chinese squad finished with a 10-0 tower advantage, 19 kills compared to three deaths, and a gold advantage of just over 18,000. They move to 2-0 on the championship, becoming the first side to pick up two victories in the early days of the group stage. Splyce, thought by most to be outsiders in a very difficult group, falls to 0-2 with a matchup against TSM looming on Saturday night.
