TSM gets its mojo back in rout of Splyce

After a close loss to Samsung Galaxy in the first Group D match of the day, Team SoloMid rebounded in a rout of Splyce to keep their quarterfinal hopes alive. Riot Games

Team SoloMid kept the North American snowballing stereotype alive as Søren "Bjergsen" Bjerg's Syndra tapped into an otherworldly power to help devastate Splyce. The No. 3 seed from Europe was eliminated from quarterfinals contention at the 2016 League of Legends World Championship.

The game started out evenly paced with a trade of kills, but some good counter-jungling from TSM's Dennis "Svenskeren" Johnsen made Jonas "Trashy" Andersen largely a nonfactor in the match. Still, Splyce attempted plays, burning a summoner spell here and there and even flanking Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng for a kill.

But as is the theme for NA, TSM just became too overwhelming, crowd-controlling members of Splyce for pick after pick to open up objectives on the map. Caster Joshua "Jatt" Leesman called it a bounce house, with knockups from Braum and Rek'Sai tossing Splyce around.

Bjergsen finished 13/1/8 when the Nexus fell at 28:31.
