North America's dream to get to the quarterfinals of the League of Legends 2016 World Championship came true after SK Telecom T1 defeated the Flash Wolves. It was a monkey off SKT's back, as they historically play poorly against the team from Taiwan and took revenge for a loss from FW earlier in the tournament.

Bae "Bengi" Seong-woong was tagged in and proved effective on his Olaf, but it was a team effort as SKT picked apart the Flash Wolves. A First Blood for SKT in between the tier 1 and tier 2 turrets was all the two-time World Champions needed to run away with the game. Again, despite their opponents pushing back, SKT looked to be in total control start to finish.

FW had no answer for Bae "Bang" Jun-sik's Ezreal, who went 10/0/7 and was able to hold his own in solo engages. The Nexus fell at 39:50, and with the win, SKT and Cloud9 advance out of Group D to reach the quarterfinals.
