DreamHack announced the launch of a new esports competition, dubbed the Nordic Championship, on Thursday.

The finals will be held at DreamHack Winter 2016 in Sweden in late November, featuring the national champions in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Hearthstone and StarCraft II from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden competing for a total prize pool of $22,075.00 (€20,000).

DreamHack noted the establishment of the Nordic Championship is the "natural next step" for ESPORTSM, the Swedish championship launched in 2011. Celebrities like Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer Gustafson (CS:GO), Sebastian "Forsen" Fors (Hearthstone) and Ivan "BorasLegend" Lapanje (FIFA) rose to prominence due in part to ESPORTSM.

The matches will be played in front of a live audience and will also be broadcast on an English live stream.
