Update, Oct. 20, 2016: It was announced Thursday that Bora "Yellowstar" Kim will be joining Paris Saint-Germain to head up its esports endeavour. The news comes one day after Yellowstar retired as a pro player.

League of Legends veteran support Bora "Yellowstar" Kim announced his retirement from the competitive League of Legends scene Wednesday, ending a six-year professional career that saw him compete in the first World Championship finals and win the European League Championship Series five times. With the retirement, Kim has left the support position on Fnatic's League of Legends squad vacant for the 2017 season.
"Entire years of sweat and late nights, from Mondays to Sundays for months finally were worth [it]," Kim wrote in his Facebook post. "It is all professional and personal, all at the very same time. The world [esports] brought me in is a very unique way of life, and only you, esports, could have offered me that. Today the situation is different. I'm now 24, and to be completely honest with you, I am feeling more and more exhausted after hours of playing."
Over the course of his career, Kim competed on some of the best European and North American League teams in the world. Kim's best success came during his time with Fnatic, where he won five LCS championships.
Following his long stint with Fnatic, Kim took an offer in late 2015 to move to North America and compete with Team SoloMid. When he failed to qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational, Kim moved back to Europe and rejoined Fnatic. This season, Fnatic took sixth place, the lowest the organization has ever taken during its time in the LCS.
