Neither player came into the tournament with much hype behind them, but the two top laners in Saturday's semifinal are leading candidates to take home the MVP award heading into the match.

Andrei "Odoamne" Pascu's outstanding play on Jayce in three straight games (9/3/9 kills/deaths/assists in G1, 5/1/8 in G2, 2/4/7 in G3) against Albus Nox Luna lifted his team past the pesky wildcard qualifier from the CIS region. Samsung's Lee "CuVee" Seong-jin has been equally as impressive in the bracket stage, winning the honor of Riot's MVP of the series award in his team's lopsided sweep of North America's last hope, Cloud9, in the quarterfinals.
