European League of Legends team Fnatic has finalized agreements with its starting five that will compete in the 2017 European League Championship Series.
The team has signed former Origen top laner Paul "sOAZ" Boyer and jungler Maurice "Amazing" Stückenschneider, former Dark Passage mid laner Rasmus "Caps" Winther, and former Immortals assistant coach Jesse "Jesiz" Le as its support, sources close to the organization and the players tell ESPN. AD carry Martin "Rekkles" Larsson has re-signed with the team for the 2017 season.
French newspaper L'Equipe reported Monday afternoon that sOAZ, who competed with Fnatic from 2012 to 2014, was in advanced talks to return to the team's lineup. ESPN has confirmed this information with sources stating that sOAZ has finalized a deal for his return.
Aside from its starting five, Fnatic will field five other players who will compete in the Challenger qualifier under the Fnatic Academy banner, as well as substitute in for the main team. Former Fnatic main squad support Johan "Klaj" Olsson will most likely participate, sources say, while the other four remain speculative.
Last week H2K Gaming finalized a deal with former Fnatic mid laner Fabian "Febiven" Diepstraten following the expiration of his contract with Fnatic. Earlier in November, the team also parted ways with two of its core players, jungler Lee "Spirit" Da-yoon and Bora "YellOwStaR" Kim.
