League of Legends team Samsung Galaxy won't have to wait long for another chance at an international tournament following their addition to the lineup at Intel Extreme Masters Gyeonggi. The South Korean squad will replace ROX Tigers as one of the representatives of League of Legends Champions Korea, according to the tournament organizers.

Samsung fell one game short of winning the 2016 World Championships after a surprising run to the finals, taking South Korean rivals SK Telecom T1 to five games before eventually settling for a second-place finish. SSG will now replace ROX -- who parted ways with their entire roster this offseason -- at IEM Gyeonggi, a chance to pick up an international championship in their home country.

J Team was also announced as an addition to the tournament, representing Taiwan's League Masters Series. North American League Championship Series team Immortals, European LCS side Giants Gaming, wild cards Vega Squadron and Dark Passage, and South Korean organization Kongdoo Monster -- who earned promotion back into the LCK in the summer promotion tournament -- are the other confirmed participants at this event, which will take place Dec. 16-18.
