Welcome back to our League of Legends global power rankings. Every week, we look at each team in the five major regions and rank them according to how they are performing.

We're entering Week 9 of the LCK and NA/EU LCS. The LMS is entering Week 8, and the LPL is entering Week 7 of play. The +/- indicates the change since the previous ranking.

Nos. 1-10 -- World contenders

Nos. 11-20 -- Playoff contenders

Nos. 21-30 -- Middle of the pack

Nos. 31-40 -- Struggling

Nos. 41-50 -- Bottom of the barrel

World contenders

1. SK Telecom T1

Record: 13-1 (26-6) | League: LCK | +/-: --

Business as usual for the Telecom giant. Last week, SKT didn't allow itself to fall to the erratic Marin-led Afreeca Freecs and suppressed the team's great laning strength. Prioritizing early/mid game power in picks like Lee Sin and Rumble made it easy to snowball for SKT. The team was still very much up to the scaling game against bbq, but let Kim "Profit" Jun-Hyung go wild on Rumble to end the week.

2. Samsung Galaxy

Record: 11-4 (24-12) | League: LCK | +/-: +1

After being third for a majority of the spring split in our Global Power Rankings, the 2016 Summoner's Cup runner-ups are back behind SK Telecom T1 in second place. But with the growth of hardworking mid laner Lee "Crown" Min-ho and addition of carry jungler Kang "Haru" Min-seung, Samsung won't be happy with just another silver medal this time around. Crown currently leads all LCK players in MVP points and has the chance to win his first MVP honors after the best season of his career. With the bottom lane of Samsung finally performing up to par, SSG could be the final rival for SKT T1 in the finals.

3. KT Rolster

Record: 10-4 (23-10) | League: LCK | +/-: -1

Perfection isn't easy to come by and the stress of being anointed one of the best starting lineups of all-time before even playing a single game is beginning to show for KT Rolster. The club hasn't looked the same since losing two straight games to SKT T1 and it barely edged out the Jin Air Green Wings before dropping a series to Samsung Galaxy last week. Compared to Crown's meticulous and diligent work ethic that's turned him into a MVP contender and rival to Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok, KT's Heo "PawN" Won-seok, Faker's former kryptonite, has hit a wall and become a hindrance. Unless PawN bounces back and the team can get over their losses, an early playoff exit could be staring KT in the face.

4. Flash Wolves

Record: 10-0 (20-1) | League: LMS | +/-: +1

Flash Wolves' early game has been tested more than once, but Machi and J Team showed that it's very possible to take advantage of the Wolves' current lane-focused game. Even so, FW have seemingly picked it back up in the mid-game and can choke out a team after the smallest mistake. After going 2-0 against M17 and J Team last week, it's likely Flash Wolves will go on to have a perfect regular season.

5. MVP

Record: 9-5 (20-14) | League: LCK | +/-: --

An unfortunate loss to Jin Air Green Wings is the only real stain on MVP's performance last week, but JAG is the kind of team that always manages to drag even the best squads to its level. Aside from that, MVP had an easy week against another relegation-destined team, Kongdoo Monster. But it remains to be seen if MVP can take down the elite talent of KT Rolster.

6. Longzhu

Record: 8-6 (18-17) | League: LCK | +/-: +4

Four matches remain for Longzhu in the season, and it's anyone's guess if the Dragons will make it to the playoffs. Realistically, its season will come down to its upcoming match against the Afreeca Freecs, a team, like Longzhu, that tends to look strong one day and awful the next. Jungler Lee "Crash" Dong-woo will be the main factor. When he plays well, Longzhu's chemistry in teamfights and Baron control are hard to beat, but when he's off, he can be a heavy anchor that is hard for even Longzhu's elite bottom lane to carry.

7. Team WE

Record: 8-2 (17-7) | League: LPL | +/-: +3

Team WE went to town this week and took down the top dog of the LPL, Royal Never Give Up. Although it fell behind in early tempo in numerous instances to well-timed ganks from RNG's Wang "Baybay" You-Chun, WE hit back in the mid-game and consistently punished sloppy skirmishes and bad positioning en route to a 2-1 victory.

8. G2 Esports

Record: 10-0 (20-5) | League: EU LCS | +/-: --

G2 Esports has "suffered" its fifth 2-1 victory in the European LCS -- and that's saying something. Winning has been the norm for the squad on the local circuit and 2-1 scores have become silver linings for opponents, who have exposed flaws in G2's execution, in early-game play (Splyce), on in lapses of focus (Misfits). Ultimately, all failed to neutralize G2, who may be without equal in Europe before the playoffs.

9. Team SoloMid

Record: 14-2 (28-14) | League: NA LCS | +/-: +1

Lose the first game in hilarious fashion, barely win Game 2, and then dominate Game 3 to win the series. That's the story of Team SoloMid this season. With one week left to go in the season and a first round bye already secured, the most interesting narrative for TSM could be the battle for MVP honors between three-time winner and team ace Søren "Bjergsen" Bjerg and top laner Kevin "Hauntzer" Yarnell, who has come into his own as an elite player this split while also becoming an integral part of the team's shot calling.

10. Royal Never Give Up

Record: 7-2 (15-7) | League: LPL | +/-: -4

Playoff contenders

11. Phoenix1

Record: 11- 5 (26-11) | League: NA LCS | +/-: +6

It was only a few weeks ago that William "Meteos" Hartman was considered effectively retired, sitting on the bench for Cloud9 while becoming a full-time streamer. After joining P1 as an emergency substitute, he's become a possible MVP candidate, making his teammates better and defeating his former C9 teammates. Alongside Meteos, AD carry Noh "Arrow" Dong-hyeon is also in the discussion for MVP of the league. The tandem two could be the driving force that lets P1 overtake C9 in the final weekend, which would give them the second seed and the coveted first round bye into the semifinals.

12. Afreeca Freecs

Record: 7-7 (17-18) | League: LCK | +/-: -1

13. Unicorns of Love

Record: 8-2 (17-7) | League: EU LCS | +/-: +5

The Unicorns of Love suffered a defeat at the hands of Misfits in Week 7 and many eyes were on them to showcase improvement against H2K Gaming in a matchup for the top spot in Group B. Their teamfighting may have been sloppy at times, but it was far less exploitable against Misfits. However, a victory is not enough for Kiss "Vizicsacsi" Tamas and his teammates, as communication needs fine-tuning heading into an eventual encounter against G2 Esports, among several other threats.

14. EDward Gaming

Record: 7-3 (15-10) | League: LPL | +/-: -1

15. H2K Gaming

Record: 7-3 (16-7) | League: EU LCS | +/-: -2

16. Cloud9

Record: 12-4 (27-13) | League: NA LCS | +/-: -2

17. ROX Tigers

Record: 7-8 (18-21) | League: LCK | +/-: -2

Since dropping the former Afreeca Freecs backup top lane/jungle duo in favor of veteran top laner Shy and former Vitality jungler Mightybear, the Tigers look to be a solid team even in the fierce LCK. A few games behind the final playoff spot with only three matches to go, the Tigers are unlikely to make the postseason, but have assured themselves a spot in the summer season of the LCK.

18. Misfits

Record: 7-3 (16-8) | League: EU LCS | +/-: -1

19. Invictus Gaming

Record: 5-4 (13-9) | League: LPL | +/-: +4

20. Counter Logic Gaming

Record: 9-7 (20-19) | League: NA LCS | +/-: +1

Middle of the pack

21. ahq

Record: 7-2 (15-4) | League: LMS | +/-: -1

22. QG Reapers

Record: 5-4 (13-10) | League: LPL | +/-: -3

23. Team Dignitas

Record: 8-8 (20-20) | League: NA LCS | +/-: +7

It's been a wacky split for Dignitas. After announcing major signings in the offseason, the team was expected to contend for a North American title. Then, it failed to do anything in the first few weeks, parted ways with their South Korean coaches, and looked dead in the water. The signing of David "Cop" Roberson as head coach and the hard work its South Korean imports have put into learning English has pushed the team back into a playoff spot. Trust the process, indeed.

24. Splyce

Record: 6-4 (14-9) | League: EU LCS | +/-: +3

25. Immortals

Record: 7-9 (19-21) | League: NA LCS | +/-: -1

Immortals currently look like a Top 5 team in the NA LCS, having beaten former first-place team C9. But it could be too little too late after the team dropped matches to Team Envy and Team Liquid two weeks ago. IMT comes into the final week of the season tied with FlyQuest for the final playoff spot; while IMT does seem like the superior of the two, its final matchups against Counter Logic Gaming and Dignitas are much tougher than FLY's contests against Echo Fox and Team Liquid.

26. OMG

Record: 5-5 (12-12) | League: LPL | +/-: +9

27. bbq Olivers

Record: 4-11 (12-23) | League: LCK | +/-: -5

28. I May

Record: 5-5 (11-2) | League: LPL | +/-: -3

29. Jin Air Green Wings

Record: 2-13 (10-26) | League: LCK | +/-: -3

30. J Team

Record: 6-4 (13-10) | League: LMS | +/-: +2

Finally, Chen "REFRA1N" Kuan-Ting is back for J Team. It will take some time for J Team to acclimate to the player, but it now has a much better chance than it ever did with Shih "Breaker" Yueh-Ting or Chen "Achie" Chen-Chi. Although J Team showed glimpses of what made it so dominant last split, the players on the roster continue to underperform individually.

Struggling

31. Hong Kong eSports

Record: 5-4 (13-10) | League: LMS | +/-: +5

32. Snake Esports

Record: 4-5 (9-12) | League: LPL | +/-: -1

33. Kongdoo Monster

Record: 1-13 (6-27) | League: LCK | +/-: -1

34. FlyQuest

Record: 7-9 (18-20) | League: NA LCS | +/-: -1

35. Fnatic

Record: 4-6 (12-15) | League: EU LCS | +/-: +6

Fnatic's season paled in comparison to the expectations placed upon them in the preseason and Mads "Broxah" Brock-Pedersen's arrival was not enough for the team to beat the top five squads in Europe. The team still disposed of lower-ranking squads until their close but significant 1-2 defeat against Team ROCCAT, an event that was followed by Nicholas "NicoThePico" Korsgaard's departure from the coaching position. A victory against Giants in Week 8 may do wonders to revitalize the squad.

36. ROCCAT

Record: 4-7 (10-16) | League: EU LCS | +/-: +10

After laying dormant for six weeks, Team ROCCAT has awakened down the stretch in spectacular fashion as it carries a four-series win streak into Week 9. On paper, the squad was capable of ranking in the middle of the table at worst, but chemistry took a long time to build. With improvements finding root in practice, the squad may eye the unthinkable: a playoff spot, should it score significant upsets down the stretch -- the first one against Misfits this Friday.

37. Machi

Record: 5-5 (11-13) | League: LMS | +/-: -2

38. LGD Gaming

Record: 3-7 (9-14) | League: LPL | +/-: +6

39. Newbee

Record: 3-7 (10-16) | League: LPL | +/-: --

40. Echo Fox

Record: 5-11 (13-25) | League: NA LCS | +/-: -6

Bottom of the barrel

41. Game Talents

Record: 3-6 (8-14) | League: LPL | +/-: -3

42. Team Liquid

Record: 4-12 (14-27) | League: NA LCS | +/-: -2

43. Fireball

Record: 3-6 (9-13) | League: LMS | +/-: -2

44. Team EnVyUs

Record: 3-13 (12-27) | League: NA LCS | +/-: -1

45. Giants Gaming

Record: 2-8 (7-18) | League: EU LCS | +/-: -3

46. Vitality

Record: 3-7 (8-15) | League: EU LCS | +/-: -1

47. Vici Gaming

Record: 2-7 (6-15) | League: LPL | +/-: -6

48. Extreme Gamers

Record: 2-8 (6-17) | League: LMS | +/-: --

49. Origen

Record: 0-11 (2-22) | League: EU LCS | +/-: --

After their defeat against Team Vitality in Week 8, Origen's hopes of avoiding the Promotion tournament have vanished. The squad's focus has already turned to preparation for relegation with Jakub "Cinkrof" Rokicki's transfer. His timely arrival may help him fend off stage jitters with relatively low pressure for the rest of the season.

50. Wayi Spider

Record: 0-9 (1-18) | League: LMS | +/-: --
