Much like the previous split, the late season surge by Team ROCCAT is on once again, as it picked up a big win over the Unicorns of Love on Thursday to open up Week 7 of the European League Championship Series in Berlin.

ROCCAT (3-6, 10-14 match record) came out of the gate in Game 1 with high damage potential across the board, which was put to good use pretty much from the start. By the time 15 minutes had passed, ROCCAT had found five kills spread out across the map to start gaining speed as the early game was coming to an end. As the game progressed, ROCCAT simply found picks and teamfight wins whenever it felt like it, as Unicorns didn't have enough to keep up. With no reliable initiator, Unicorns (6-2, 14-8 match record) were forced to fight to its detriment at every point in the game. ROCCAT eventually found itself a Baron and then easily finished up the game in 35 minutes.

Highlighting the second draft of this series was the first EU LCS appearance of the brand new champion, Kayn, for ROCCAT jungler Milo "Pridestalker" Wehnes. Despite having the new champ, Pridestalker was unable to make much of an impact due to Unicorns grabbing an early lead and never letting it go. The main catalyst for Unicorns was AD carry Samuel "Samux" Fernández Fort's Kalista, who picked up three kills by the 10-minute mark to set the pace for his team. The game quickly got out of hand 14 minutes in when Unicorns found an easy ace onto ROCCAT to break it wide open. From then on, ROCCAT was on its backfoot in a lightning fast 23-minute game.

The final game of this series progressed much like the first, with Unicorns managing to keep it close in the first few minutes before ROCCAT teamfought its opponent to death. Once the midgame hit, it looked as though Unicorns seemingly forgot how to teamfight, with it being wholly unable to gain any sizeable advantage through fights. Not only that, but ROCCAT were finding objectives with relative ease at the same time. Unicorns looked to make a late game comeback with a big teamfight win led by mid laner Fabian "Exileh" Schubert's triple kill with Corki. ROCCAT simply came back with a pick and an easy Baron a couple minutes late to regain its momentum and continue pushing towards the 34-minute upset win.

Unicorns will take on Fnatic this Saturday at 11 a.m. ET, while ROCCAT will continue this surge of inspired play against the Ninjas in Pyjamas next Saturday at 2 p.m. ET.
