OW: Lunatic-Hai advance to Ro8 with win over Meta Athena

Genji flies through the air in Overwatch. Provided by Blizzard.

The final game of the group stage of OGN Overwatch APEX Season 4 wrapped up in Seoul on Tuesday. Sounds of Lunatic-Hai fans rocked the stadium as they watched their team end with a win over Meta Athena. With the victory, Lunatic-Hai advance forward while Meta Athena are left behind in the dust.

Map 1: Ilios (Control)
Map 2: King's Row (Assault/Escort)
Map 3: Temple of Anubis (Assault)
Map 4: Dorado (Escort)

The highlight of the match came from Meta Athena, due to the absence of a player missing from Lunatic-Hai's lineup tonight. That player is Ryu "Ryujehong" Je-hong. While Kim "EscA" In-jae is known to be the main shotcaller, Ryujehong is the backbone of the team, as one of the best supports in the game. Lunatic-Hai still played tightly and concisely, but it would lose the first map, Ilios, to Meta Athena.

Meta Athena played poorly all season but the first map was the best it ever performed this season; this is thanks to Ha "Sayaplayer" Jeong-woo's hitscan DPS and Kim "Libero" Hye-sung's Pharah. This DPS duo was as dominating as most remember during Meta Athena's strongest phase in its rookie season, but the momentum would end as fast as it began.

Starting from King's Row, Lunatic-Hai had Meta Athena's number. Stepping up to the plate to combat the efforts of Sayaplayer and Libero was the one known as Lee "Whoru" Seung-joon. On his famous Genji, he took to the skies to take down Libero's Pharah -- enough to impact the series and stop MA's offenses while advancing LH's. Temple of Anubis and Dorado were just as cut-and-dry as King's Row with Whoru getting massive kill streaks, and Lunatic-Hai winning the series 3-1 -- the team has secured its advancement out of the group stages. Unfortunately, this means that MVP Space loses the tiebreaker and will not be able to advance.
