Epic Games announced Friday the Fortnite World Cup Finals will take place in New York City July 26-28. The finals will feature the largest single esports prize pool at $30 million dollars, larger than Dota 2's The International, which topped out at $25.5 million for last year's tournament.
The lead-up to the World Cup will consist of 10 weekly Online Open qualifiers that will run from April 13 to June 16. Eligible Fortnite players will vie for $1 million each week. The Fortnite World Cup Finals will consist of the top 100 solo players and the top 50 two-player teams from around the world.
All participants at the finals are guaranteed $50,000, while the solo champion will get $3 million. Total, there will be $100 million up for grabs in 2019 for competitive Fortnite.
