Third-seeded G2 Esports rallied to win the final two games and beat SK Telecom T1 3-2 in the knockout stage of the $1 million League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational on Saturday to move into Sunday's finals.

G2 will face fourth-seeded Team Liquid in the final, a stunning development considering Liquid upset Invictus Gaming -- the reigning world champs -- in the other semifinal.

Sunday's final will be the first time since 2011 that an international final hasn't featured a South Korean or Chinese team.

SK Telecom T1 opened Saturday's semifinal by winning the first game and appeared to be in control when they also dominated the third game for a 2-1 lead.

But G2 squeezed out victories over the final two games to win the best-of-five and advance. It marked the third time G2 had beaten SKT this week.

Now, G2 will meet Team Liquid at 3 a.m. ET Sunday with the $400,000 first-place check on the line. The runner-up will take home $200,000, with iG and SK Telecom T1 each winning $100,000.
