Team Secret's run came to an abrupt end with a 2-0 loss to Team Liquid as The International 9 in China narrowed down to just three teams.
Eighteen teams started the tournament playing for a prize pool of nearly $34 million, with the winner taking home the top prize of just over $15 million.
Secret started the day with a sweep of Vici Gaming in the first lower-bracket match of the day in Shanghai. Vici Gaming earned $1.19 million for the T5-6 finish.
In the second match, the upper-bracket final, OG beat PSG.LGD 2-1 to advance to the grand final. PSG.LGD moved into the lower-bracket final with the loss, leaving the team still alive for the top prize.
Secret earned $2,046,200 for the fourth-place finish.
The winner of the lower-bracket final between PSG.LGD and Team Liquid faces OG in Sunday's best-of-five grand final.
