MINNEAPOLIS -- The Los Angeles Guerrillas released a statement protesting the outcome of their match against the Minnesota RØKKR on Friday.
The Call of Duty League ruled to award the RØKKR one game point after the Guerrillas' Andres "Lacefield" Lacefield had selected a banned perk, Hardline, in their match accidentally.
"While we accept a player did inadvertently use a banned perk," the Guerrillas wrote, "it did not affect the outcome of the game."
The Guerrillas' statement went on to say that during the decision to ban specialist perks and bonuses, no Guerrillas member was present for that vote. They also outlined several other league decisions that concerned them, including match delays and the absence of senior league leadership when the match decision occurred.
"We hope this action will help the overall competitive integrity of the Call of Duty League and a healthy and fair future for all the franchises involved."
Yesterday, the Guerrillas' Patrick "ACHES" Price took to Twitter and spoke out against the decision individually.
There is currently no workaround for banned perks other than to refrain from changing classes pre-match, since the Hardline perk is selected by default.
