Every Call of Duty League Minnesota homestand map in a sentence

Misfits Gaming Group

There was serious consideration to calling this column "How about them respawns," but ultimately I decided against it.

Here is every map at the Minnesota RØKKR home series in a sentence.

Day 1

Los Angeles Guerrillas 3, Toronto Ultra 2

Rammaza, Hardpoint: Stronger rotations and breaks win this for the Guerrillas, who look more cohesive than Toronto at the start of this match.

Arklov Peak, Search and Destroy: Vivid shows off his sniping skills and the Guerrillas go up 2-0 with a 6-3 S&D win.

Hackney Yard, Domination: Toronto avoid getting swept with an important dom win.

Hackney Yard, Hardpoint: The Ultra take the early lead and the Guerrillas are not able to break onto Toronto's points, leading to a massive 250-84 Toronto victory.

Gun Runner, Search and Destroy: Bance is going to get a lot of flak for shooting dead bodies in this one, but credit to the Guerrillas, their S&D, and SAINTS.

Atlanta FaZe 3, Seattle Surge 2

Azhir Cave, Hardpoint: Proto gets over two minutes of objective time and Seattle upset Atlanta on their first map.

Gun Runner, Search and Destroy: Proto gets first blood and a crucial trade in Round 11 to open things up for an eventual Seattle victory.

Hackney Yard, Domination: This is icing the leader, but after a long break, FaZe get an early first-half lead that they leverage into their first map win of the series.

Gun Runner, Hardpoint: Seattle get off to a really strong start, but it's the FaZe who come out ahead with individual killstreaks and slaying power.

St Petrograd, Search and Destroy: Well, that series happened, so congrats to FaZe, but I can't help but feel badly for Seattle during that extended break.

Florida Mutineers 3, Chicago Huntsmen 2

Gun Runner, Hardpoint: This hardpoint was remarkably back and forth, with both teams staying relatively even with each other until the Huntsmen are forced into a late contest and break to take the map 1-0.

Arklov Peak, Search and Destroy: Joseph "Owakening" Conley already looks really good with his new team, helping lead them to an S&D win.

Hackney Yard, Domination: The Mutineers control flag captures and use some smart neutralizations to go up 2-1 over the Huntsmen.

Rammaza, Hardpoint: This is another fairly close hardpoint, but the Huntsmen control it a lot better than Florida this time around for another hardpoint win.

Rammaza, Search and Destroy: Regardless of roster, it seems like the Mutineers ultimately have the Huntsmen's number.

Dallas Empire 3, Minnesota RØKKR 1

Rammaza, Hardpoint: Assault gets off to a strong start and the RØKKR end up taking it after a close map with multiple lead changes.

St. Petrograd, Search and Destroy: A strong statement from the Dallas Empire on their best map mode in a 6-2 S&D victory.

St. Petrograd, Domination: Dallas come out aggressively and use their strong A-B control to take a near-50-point first-half lead and eventually the map win.

St. Petrograd, Hardpoint: The hardpoint is a lot less close for the RØKKR as Huke tops the leaderboard with 37 kills.

Day 2

Florida Mutineers 3, Los Angeles Guerrillas 1

Gun Runner, Hardpoint: Florida overcomes the Guerrillas lead and Owakening continues to look good with Florida.

Piccadilly, Search and Destroy: The Guerrillas hit their stride mid-map, adjusting to Florida's setups and further proving their S&D prowess.

St. Petrograd, Domination: Florida gets off to a strong start with Bradley "Frosty" Bergstrom leading the way and the Mutineers maintain this lead, ballooning it to a 50-point lead by the end.

Rammaza, Hardpoint: The Mutineers firmly punch their ticket to the bracket stage with a whopping 250-108 win and another impressive showing from Owakening.

Atlanta FaZe 3, Dallas Empire 2

Gun Runner, Hardpoint: Anthony "Shotzzy" Cuevas-Castro puts up 30 and the Empire make the FaZe look slow on Map 1.

Rammaza, Search and Destroy: Indervir "iLLeY" Dhaliwal is the kill star for Dallas, but it's a strong team S&D win for the Empire.

St. Petrograd, Domination: Atlanta's stronger second half of this map around B-C flag control keep them alive in this series.

St. Petrograd, Hardpoint: Atlanta set themselves up for their second straight reverse sweep of this tournament as their players start heating up.

Piccadilly, Search and Destroy: Round 6 of this map was the most entertaining to watch for me, due to iLLeY and the Empire's setup at bomb, but Atlanta take the map and the series.

Chicago Huntsmen 3, Toronto Ultra 0

Rammaza, Hardpoint: The Huntsmen take a late lead change on Ruins only to have Toronto stall, contest and get the next point before Chicago break and take the map.

Rammaza, Search and Destroy: Watching Preston "Prestinni" Sanderson on this map is really fun because you can see how his early aggression opens up the map for Chicago. Also watch for Dylan "Envoy" Hannon on the Uzi.

Gun Runner, Domination: Chicago take a strong lead in the first round and hold off the Ultra, even with a triple cap by Toronto in the second half.

Seattle Surge 3, Minnesota RØKKR 2

Azhir Cave, Hardpoint: The RØKKR go into the final hardpoint with 249 and Obaid "Asim" Asim breaks for the final tick.

Arklov Peak, Search and Destroy: As much as the RØKKR have struggled on S&D, they look really good here and go up 2-0.

Gun Runner, Domination: This comes down to a last-second fight over B flag, and Seattle squeak out the victory with a late B-flag capture.

Hackney Yard, Hardpoint: The Seattle Surge come out swinging with an over-100 point hardpoint victory to push this series to Map 5.

St. Petrograd, Search and Destroy: It's nice to see Seattle rally after a tough Day 1, but I always feel for the RØKKR, since they've had so many close losses and nearly had this series 3-0.

Los Angeles Guerrillas 3, Chicago Huntsmen 2

Gun Runner, Hardpoint: The Huntsmen overcome some strong rotations from the Guerrillas with some successful breaks and quicker play.

Arklov Peak, Search and Destroy: Usually the Huntsmen look a bit stronger in S&D than this, so credit to the Guerrillas, who are looking like one of, if not the, strongest search team in the Call of Duty League right now.

Hackney Yard, Domination: Good early B and C control from the Huntsmen give them an early first-half lead, which is evaporated by the Guerrillas early in the second half, with the Huntsmen pulling away again at the end.

Hackney Yard, Hardpoint: This comes down to the final hill in a 250-243 Guerrillas win that saw them overtaking an early Chicago lead.

Gun Runner, Search and Destroy: This S&D round is significantly closer than the first of the series, but the Guerrillas eliminate the Huntsmen and make it to their first-ever bracket stage on the year.

Dallas Empire 3, Seattle Surge 0

Gun Runner, Hardpoint: Dallas get out to such a strong lead that they can just play for time even when Seattle threaten to make it close.

Gun Runner, Search and Destroy: Seattle are looking much better in S&D, but this is still Dallas' best game mode and they prove it once again here.

Hackney Yard, Domination: The Empire kick things off with a 30-point first-half lead and pull significantly ahead in the second half that includes some creative heart decor on A flag from James "Clayster" Eubanks.

Day 3

Atlanta FaZe 3, Los Angeles Guerrillas 2

Gun Runner, Hardpoint: Despite early breaks from the FaZe on the first few hills, the Guerrillas and Rasim "Blazt" Ogresevic adjust and hold the final few hills for a Map 1 win.

Piccadilly, Search and Destroy: The Guerrillas were 5-0 on S&D going into this map and left it 5-1 with their first S&D loss.

Hackney Yard, Domination: This time it's Jacob "Decemate" Cato's turn to shine as the Guerrillas have convincing mid control in their first domination win of the tournament.

Hackney Yard, Hardpoint: The FaZe's slaying power is back on this dominant hardpoint win.

Gun Runner, Search and Destroy: I'm not going to completely credit this to the Aqua team kill because that wouldn't be fair to Atlanta, but that's a tilter in a series where Guerrillas should have had the upper hand in their best map mode.

Florida Mutineers 3, Dallas Empire 2

Gun Runner, Hardpoint: The Mutineers break onto Dallas points multiple times as Colt "Havok" McLendon and Owakening lead Florida to a 1-0 lead.

Gun Runner, Search and Destroy: Dallas come back with a 6-1 S&D round, continuing to establish S&D as one of the Empire's strongest game modes.

Gun Runner, Domination: Dallas take nearly a 30-point lead in the first half, and while Florida try to make it close with strong A and B control to start the second, Dallas take it.

Rammaza, Hardpoint: Those sure were some hardpoint spawns.

Rammaza, Search and Destroy: Another Map 5, another Round 11, and another win for the Mutineers, who head to the finals for the chance at a second title.

Florida Mutineers 3, Atlanta FaZe 1

Gun Runner, Hardpoint: The Mutineers open up this series with a statement 100-plus-point hardpoint win.

Arklov Peak, Search and Destroy: Atlanta's strongest edge over Florida is definitely in S&D and Tyler "aBeZy" Pharris shines in this one-sided win.

St. Petrograd, Domination: Florida takes the lead and doesn't let go as Chris "Simp" Lehr, Preston "Priestahh" Greiner and aBeZy struggle.

Hackney Yard, Hardpoint: The Florida Mutineers join the Chicago Huntsmen, Atlanta FaZe and Dallas Empire at two tournament wins apiece on the season.
