Riot Games' virtual pop group K/DA announced their official comeback today. Their return will follow a similar release and promotion schedule as a traditional South Korean pop group comeback and will include a stream of image teasers and a single "THE BADDEST" with a lyric music video. An EP album will be released at a later date. Riot also announced the creation of Riot Games Music Label to promote the company's music acts, including K/DA, Pentakill and K/DA-adjacent group True Damage.
K/DA is a virtual pop music girl group that debuted at the 2018 League of Legends World Championship in Incheon, South Korea, with the song "POP/STARS." The group featured League of Legends characters Ahri, Akali, Evelynn and Kai'sa voiced by Cho "Miyeon" Mi-yeon, Jeon "Soyeon" So-yeon (both members of Korean pop group (G)I-DLE), Madison Beer and Jaira Burns, respectively.
"Ever since K/DA premiered their explosive track POP/STARS at the 2018 League of Legends World Championships, fans always ask what's next for the group," said Toa Dunn, head of Riot Games Music. "We can't wait for everyone to hear the new track today, followed by the EP later in the year, which is packed with tons of surprises for League of Legends and K/DA fans to enjoy."

(G)I-DLE's Soyeon and Miyeon will return to collaborate for K/DA's upcoming single along with new additions Bea Miller and Wolftyla. Soyeon also reprised her role as Akali last year for Riot Music's True Damage, which performed "Giants" at the 2019 League of Legends World Championship in Paris.
"We've been doing a few international events these days," Soyeon said at the 2019 world championship regarding K/DA's global impact. "Especially overseas, outside of South Korea is where fans would come up to me and say, 'Oh, you're that K/DA girl. Previously, most of our fans were pre-existing K-pop idol fans, but after that finals stage happened, some of the fans would say, 'I'm a League of Legends fan. I'm a fan of K/DA.'"
K/DA's debut EP will feature multiple collaborations with Soyeon, Miyeon, Miller and Wolftyla as well as other artists.
