Notts County star Matt Tootle's 'slug' goal celebration is really weird

Notts County kept their excellent start to the season going with a 4-1 win over Lincoln City on Saturday that sent the Magpies top of League Two on goal difference.

Matt Tootle scored County's second goal of the afternoon, which afforded the full-back the opportunity to air his rather "unique" goal celebration: The Slug.

Tootle has previously explained just how "The Slug" came to be, revealing that it all began on a team night out in August when he messed up during a karaoke performance and decided to improvise.

"We did a bit of karaoke, but I forgot the words to 'Stand By Me' and having seen somebody do the slug at a festival on Instagram I just decided to do the slug instead and it went down well," the 26-year-old told the Nottingham Post.

Far be it from us to query Tootle's anecdote, but isn't the whole point of karaoke that the words are provided for you? Still, it brought the world one of the all-time great celebrations, so we can't complain.
