Transfer Rater: Mesut Ozil to Man United, Rui Patricio to Arsenal

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers for the summer. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Mesut Ozil to Manchester United

Jose Mourinho is being linked with a shock move for Arsenal's Ozil, Goal is reporting.

The Portuguese boss managed Ozil during the German's three-year spell at Real Madrid, and Mourinho has previously described the playmaker as the best No.10 in the world.

The 28-year-old's current deal expires at the end of next season, and negotiations over a new contract have stalled after an offer of £200,000 per week was rejected.

Rui Patricio to Arsenal

Arsenal are lining up a £13 million bid for Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Patricio as a replacement for Petr Cech, according to French radio station RMC.

Cech, 34, has looked unconvincing at times this season, while David Ospina has been unable to take advantage and claim the No.1 shirt for himself.

Patricio, six years Cech's junior, as a standout performer for Portugal as they won Euro 2016, and was named in the team of the tournament. The Portuguese keeper has been capped 57 times for his country, while clocking up almost 400 appearances for the Primeira Liga side since graduating from their youth academy in 2006.

Andrew Robertson to West Ham United

Hull City defender Robertson looks set to be one of the first players heading for the exit at the KCOM should the Tigers be relegated, with West Ham keen on the Scotland international.

Only Hull, Swansea and Bournemouth have conceded more than the Hammers this season, and the east London club will want to bolster their defensive options in order to launch a more successful Premier League campaign next year.

Robertson has appeared in 24 of Hull's 29 Premier League games this season and despite being a part of one of the league's leakiest defences, the left-back has impressed enough to catch the eye elsewhere.

Mamadou Sakho to Southampton

With Virgil van Dijk expected to leave St Mary's this summer, Southampton will be in the market for a new centre-back, and Liverpool's Mamadou Sakho has emerged as one of their primary targets.

The Saints held talks with Liverpool over a permanent deal for Sakho in January, but the club were put off by the £20m asking price.

The Frenchman is currently on loan at Crystal Palace until the end of the season and has impressed since his move, but with no purchase clause built into that deal, Sakho will be free to entertain offers from other clubs if, as expected, Jurgen Klopp allows him to leave Anfield.

Ricardo Quaresma to Stoke City

Portugal international Quaresma is the subject of interest from Stoke City, according to a source close to current club Besiktas.

The 33-year-old former Porto man has scored eight goals and provided 14 assists for club and country so far in 2016-17, while putting in a number of quality performances that have helped his club to lead the Turkish Super Lig and reach the Europa League quarterfinals.
