Ivan Strinic in training after sealing Napoli move

Ivan Strinic has commenced training with Napoli after completing his move to the Serie A club from Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk.

The Croatian defender passed his medical prior to the turn of the year, although he was unable to sign on until Jan. 1, after his contract with the Ukrainian club expired.

Napoli announced on their official website that the 27-year-old has already been in training with his new teammates, and he is in line to make his debut at Cesena on Tuesday.

Strinic is not likely to be the last new arrival at the Azzurri this winter. Manolo Gabbiadini is on the verge of joining from Sampdoria, although both clubs are waiting until the transfer window officially opens on Monday before confirming that deal.

Meanwhile, coach Rafael Benitez has said he is hoping for a positive 2015.

"It's been a good 2014 and now we expect 2015 to be even better," he told Radio Kiss Kiss. "I want to pass on my wishes to tall Napoli fans and their families and see them on Jan. 2 when our training will be open to everybody. You win more when you pull together, and it all becomes easier."
