Mohamed Salah became only the second African player in the history of the Premier League to reach 100 top flight goals when he netted against Leeds United on Sunday, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Kalidou Koulibaly and Wilfried Zaha also enjoyed weekends to remember.
Only Didier Drogba, who plundered a century of top-flight goals across two stints with Chelsea between 2004 and 2015, had previously reached three figures among African strikers in the Premier League.
But Salah has been cruising inexorably towards the landmark, despite playing 92 fewer matches than the Ivorian great in the top flight, and he becomes the fifth-quickest player ever to reach a century in the Premier League.
He netted No. 100 to open the scoring in Liverpool's 3-0 victory over Leeds on Sunday -- tying Matt Le Tissier in 29th-place in the Premier League standings --when he met a near-post Trent Alexander-Arnold cross to send the ball beyond Illan Meslier.

Salah's performance also generated praise from ex-Egypt and Tottenham Hotspur striker Mido.
"In my opinion, Salah is the best Arab player in the history of football," Mido posted on Twitter. "He's scored more goals than any other Arab player in the Premier League, and he's won the Premier League and Uefa Champions League titles.
"Salah has also scored in the Fifa World Cup, and he still has years to do more in football. There are a lot of great Arab players, but I don't think any of them can be compared to Salah."
Salah was honoured by his Liverpool teammates on Monday, when they presented him with a '100' Liverpool jersey before a celebratory photoshoot.
It's now surely only a matter of time before Salah, who was on Chelsea's books alongside Drogba briefly during the 2014-15 season, equals and then surpasses the Blues legend's 104-goal tally.
He's already written his name in Liverpool's legacy -- striking 98 of his Premier League goals for the Reds in just 149 matches -- and a case could well be made that he's Africa's greatest ever export to the English game.
Unless the 29-year-old falls well short of the 22-, 19-, 22-goal tallies he's registered in the past three seasons, he appears primed to break into the league's top 20 scorers before end of the current season.
Beyond Salah's historic showing, Joel Matip continued to excel in Liverpool's defence -- dovetailing impressively with Alexander-Arnold -- while Sadio Mane added the Reds' third goal with an accurate low shot in stoppage time.
Aubameyang hasn't maintained Salah's level of consistency over the last 18 months, although he has shown signs in recent weeks that a renaissance may be afoot.
He followed up his hat-trick away at West Bromwich Albion in the Carabao Cup last month by scoring the only goal of the game as Arsenal saw off Norwich City 1-0 in the Premier League on Saturday.
Of course, Mikel Arteta would have loved a more coherent, attractive performance from the Gunners, after their miserable start to the season, but three points -- secured by any means -- would have been a delight for all of an Arsenal persuasion.

Japhet Tanganga vs. Zaha was always going to be a terrific tussle when Crystal Palace hosted Tottenham Hotspur in a London derby on Saturday, as the defender relishes one-on-one combat with a pacy, agile wideman -- - as he demonstrated against Jack Grealish in Spurs' opener against Manchester City.
On this occasion, however, the Anglo-Congolese youngster was found wanting.
Only moments after he'd picked up a booking after barging Zaha and subsequently clashing with the winger, Tanganga was shown a second yellow -- and a red card -- for lunging at Jordan Ayew.
It was exactly the kind of devastating impact Zaha can cause when given space to run and allowed to isolate an opposition defender; he relishes the big occasion, and thereafter he reaffirmed his capacity as a Premier League match-winner.
Some may argue that Zaha shouldn't have been on the pitch by the time he opened the scoring from the spot after Ben Davies handled in the box, having raised his hands to Tanganga's face, and he further punished Spurs with a delicious cross to set up the debuting Odsonne Edouard 28 seconds after the Frenchman entered the fray.
"He's a really important player for us," Vieira said after the match.
"Wilfried is a technical leader in the team. When he gets the ball at his feet, he is direct; he is good on the one vs. one. I would like him to score more goals because I think he has the quality and the talent to do it."

Victor Osimhen's return to the team, after the overturning of his suspension, dominated the pre-match headlines, but the Senegal centre-back made the decisive contribution.
Wojciech Szczesny prevented Moise Kean from scoring an own goal, only for the ball to ricochet off 30-year-old Koulibaly into the back of the net, prompting an elaborate celebration from the defender -- who picked up a camera from a touchside photographer before taking some snaps of the Napoli supporters.
"I saw all the fans celebrating and wanted to take a picture as it was so beautiful," Koulibaly told DAZN.
"The win is for them as we were without them for a year and when we see them like that we're all happy."
The victory extends Napoli's 100% record in Serie A this season, as they remain tied in top spot with AS Roma and AC Milan.
