Greek giants Panathinaikos have fired coach Andrea Stramaccioni following a series of disappointing results.
The 40-year-old Italian was dismissed after a meeting on Wednesday with the club's chairman -- a day after Panathinaikos lost 2-1 to second-division club OFI in the Greek Cup.
A former coach at Italian clubs Inter Milan and Udinese, Stramaccioni took over at Panathinaikos last November.
Panathinaikos have only 15 points after nine matches in the Greek league, and are level with AEK Athens in third place. Olympiakos lead the league on 22 points.
