West Ham have completed the signing of Nikica Jelavic from Hull City for an undisclosed fee.

The Hammers had been scouring the transfer market for a new striker and have turned to Jelavic, 30, who has penned a two-year contract, with the option of a further two.

The arrival of Jelavic, who has also played in the Premier League with Everton as well as Hull, complements that of Alex Song, Victor Moses and Michail Antonio, with the trio both joining West Ham on the final day of the transfer window.

The Hammers confirmed news of the deal on Tuesday and the striker will link up once more with Slaven Bilic following their time together with the Croatia national team.

"I am very excited to be signing for West Ham United, especially as it is a big club and I didn't know until a couple of days ago that I would have the opportunity to come here," Jelavic told West Ham's official website.

"Of course it is always a target to play in the Premier League, so when I found out that West Ham wanted me there was no doubt that I wanted to come here.

"I've played for Slaven before for the Croatia national team and he is a great manager and a great man. I am really happy and delighted to be working with him and all his staff again.

"I'll be joining a team that's on a high after the result [against Liverpool] on Saturday."
